•July 18, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Friday, July 18, 2008.

Police have closed down many blocks around Pinole Valley High School this morning. Sources tell us that an alledged gang member got off of an AC Transit bus and appeared to have a gun with a scope attached under his coat.

He entered Pinole Valley High School and the bus driver reported the incident to police. The incident happened between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Police are now moving students to another school via busses. They are not allowed to go home as of yet. (11:35 AM).

Dogs are being brought in to search for any sign of a weapon that may have been hidden in the school. No arrests have been made at this time.

Helicopters are circling overhead, both police and at least one Coast Guard helicopter.

Housing Sales Plunge in Bay Area

I also heard that many people are coming close to the mark of when their ARM loans are coming due. Refinancing percentage points are up and in my opinion it is only a matter of time until the market becomes saturated with bankruptcies. Are we ready for this?

Contra Costa posted the biggest annual sales and price declines in percentage terms among Bay Area counties in February, a real estate research firm said Thursday.

Statewide, home sales slid last month to the lowest level for February in 10 years, while the median home price climbed modestly, according to DataQuick Information Systems.

In the nine-county San Francisco Bay area, sales fell to an 11-year low for February to 6,305 new and resale houses and condominiums. That’s down 7.9 percent from 6,844 in February 2006 but up 2.2 percent from 6,168 in January.

The median home price in the Bay area was $620,000, up 3.2 percent from $601,000 in January and up 0.3 percent from $618,000 in February 2006. The price peaked at $648,000 in June.

Now California will have a say pretty much as early as the other states that set the pace for presidential candidates. The Governor says it will help us have a say in very important national matters.

“Holding our presidential primary in June used to mean the nominees were locked before we ever had a chance to vote,” Schwarzenegger said about White House candidates sweeping in to fundraise millions only to leave before they listen to California’s concerns. “I’m happy to say, these days are over.”

Cars for the Rich

•March 9, 2007 • 1 Comment

What does a Saleen, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Farrari, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar have in common? They all cost unbelievable amounts of cash.

has an amazing article that talks about these expensive rides.

For me, I like the sporty and very colorful cars. But you won’t find me in a Pangani Zonda which aparently goes 200 MPH.

I had never heard of a Saleen, but it looks amazing!

UBIQUITOUS CHAIN ADDS NEW CELL PHONE SERVICE
By Melissa Allison
The Seattle Times

SEATTLE – Starbucks fields thousands of calls each year from customers phoning from the road to find the nearest Starbucks store.

But now customers with cell phones and mobile devices can save themselves the call.

Cell phone users can send a text message with the area’s zip code to MYSBUX, and a list of nearby Starbucks stores will pop back. And customers using mobile devices with Web access will find a store locator by typing www.starbucks.com.

Starbucks might be the first company to use its own so-called “short code” to allow mobile users to find its stores.

“It’s an obvious thing to do, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more,” said Julie Ask, a wireless analyst for Jupiter Research in San Francisco.

Once again climbers got themselves lost this year on Mt. Hood. I lived in the Portland, Oregon area for 7 years and have even been on the slopes at Mt. Hood. The conditions can change rapidly, that’s for sure. I have seen it drop inches and inches in just one hour! Congratulations to all the rescue workers, and it’s wonderful they had those GPS locators.
