Friday, July 18, 2008.
Police have closed down many blocks around Pinole Valley High School this morning. Sources tell us that an alledged gang member got off of an AC Transit bus and appeared to have a gun with a scope attached under his coat.
He entered Pinole Valley High School and the bus driver reported the incident to police. The incident happened between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Police are now moving students to another school via busses. They are not allowed to go home as of yet. (11:35 AM).
Dogs are being brought in to search for any sign of a weapon that may have been hidden in the school. No arrests have been made at this time.
Helicopters are circling overhead, both police and at least one Coast Guard helicopter.

It’s always a joy to see the Cable Cars running around San Francisco. This was taken on a nice warm spring day — April 2008. Warm weather, people hanging out and having fun, and the big city. Love it!

I also heard that many people are coming close to the mark of when their ARM loans are coming due. Refinancing percentage points are up and in my opinion it is only a matter of time until the market becomes saturated with bankruptcies. Are we ready for this?

Contra Costa home sales, prices down
By Elliot Spagat

Contra Costa posted the biggest annual sales and price declines in percentage terms among Bay Area counties in February, a real estate research firm said Thursday.
Statewide, home sales slid last month to the lowest level for February in 10 years, while the median home price climbed modestly, according to DataQuick Information Systems.
In the nine-county San Francisco Bay area, sales fell to an 11-year low for February to 6,305 new and resale houses and condominiums. That’s down 7.9 percent from 6,844 in February 2006 but up 2.2 percent from 6,168 in January.
The median home price in the Bay area was $620,000, up 3.2 percent from $601,000 in January and up 0.3 percent from $618,000 in February 2006. The price peaked at $648,000 in June.
